PRACTICE AREA
Our General School Law practice encompasses the full range of legal services that support the daily operations and long-term objectives of Ohio’s public school districts. Serving as trusted advisors to boards of education, superintendents, treasurers, and administrators, we provide practical, solutions-focused counsel on the diverse legal issues that arise in the governance and management of K–12 education.
We represent districts in litigation defense at both the administrative and judicial levels, developing strategies that safeguard the district’s legal position while minimizing operational disruption. We also assist in the negotiation, drafting, and review of contracts, including agreements with vendors, service providers, and other governmental entities, ensuring each contract is clear, enforceable, and aligned with the district’s goals.
Our attorneys work closely with school leaders to develop, update, and implement board policies that are compliant with applicable laws and reflect best practices in education governance. We are also experienced in representing districts in grievance arbitration and alternative dispute resolution, resolving conflicts efficiently and effectively.
With decades of combined experience in education law and public-sector representation, we deliver responsive, cost-effective legal support across all areas of school operations. Whether providing day-to-day guidance or addressing high-stakes legal challenges, our goal is to equip school leaders with the knowledge and strategies they need to serve their students and communities with confidence.
